Meet Eliza
Art by Eliza is where you come to find (or commission) conceptual art that reflects the kind of art you would find if you fell through the looking glass, straight into another topsy-turvy world… or at least, that is the goal.
With art heavily inspired by the whimsical, yet sometimes dark world found in Alice in Wonderland and other unheard of magical realms, we strive to transport the viewer to another world when they look at our work. A world where the duality of light and darkness, whimsey and hidden meanings all come together to create something interesting and beautiful that makes you think. Our goal through our art is to bring to life something both fun to look at, but also contains a depth that cannot be seen from the surface, leading the viewer to dig deeper and look within for the hidden meanings.
We use our art as a way to examine our deepest feelings, even the ones we want to keep hidden, in a way that is both expressive and methodical, as a way to examine the things about ourselves we do not want to necessarily see. We encourage you to do the same and use our artwork as a framework for self-reflection, almost like a prettier personality test. Will you be able to see something new or profound in yourself that you couldn’t face before? If so, we have accomplished out job.
Before exploring our gallery, we encourage you to read our story to learn more about our background, where we came from, what inspires us, and our creative process so you can better enjoy, search for secrets and understand the meaning behind the “pretty picture”. We hope to see you there!
Portfolio
Everyone needs an escape from reality sometimes but finding that place to escape to can be hard in the current day and age. Our method of escape is to make magical portals leading out of this realm and into a realm solely held within the confines of the canvases we create on.
Join us in our gallery, a place where colorful canvases and magical motifs and sparkling metallics will transport you to a happier place filled with inspiration, beauty and song, where you will find photos of our body of work along with lyrics, songs and other insight into their creation.
We hope you will find something that brings you joy, relief, happiness or any emotion, really. We just hope our art helps you unlock something, anything, within yourself that makes you feel.
Our Point of View
In my opinion, the purpose of art in general is to let the viewer see what they need to in your creation. No two people will look at the same thing, and derive the same meaning, and I think that is important, so I try to keep my personal meaning separate from the viewer so they can divine thier own meaning.
When I create, almost every element in my art is significant and symbolic, including the music I listen to while I work, which in my opinion, adds my own little personal layer of storytelling to each painting.
